The star of Bethlehem

On the floor of the Church of the Nativity in Jerusalem is the Star, in the middle of which is a circular hole, through which one can reach in to touch the stone that is said to be the original stone that Mary lay on when she gave birth to Jesus. This is a very special pilgrimage site for the Christian Church and my inspiration for this piece.
