Christ Emmanuel

Another icon of Christ Emmanuel, inspired by a Catholic icon of Christ child holding the Cross and the royal globe. Here is another interpretation of this inspiration. Christ Emmanuel holds the Cross in His hands, and it is becoming a part of His halo. He prefigures his end on the Cross. His Kingship regalia is revealed by carrying the Cross as His scepter, His Crown as the crown of thorns, and the globus cruciger (cross-bearing orb). Those are the symbols of power, legitimacy, victory, triumph, honor, and glory, as well as immortality, righteousness, resurrection and authority.
